Calm your mind and ease your spirit in these tumultuous times by joining the SOSL as they present an evening of traditional carols, modern arrangements and contemporary works to celebrate the festive season. This year’s programme features fresh and unusual arrangements of holiday classics for both chorus and Orchestra.
Some of these include a brilliant arrangement of We Three Kings, a carol that appeared in the Oxford Book of Carols in 1928, which introduced it as “one of the most successful of modern composed carols”. This cinematic arrangement, with the accent on the oriental, by Matt Riley (with additional orchestration by Brian Bunker) showcases a violin soloist with string orchestra.
